"More law, Less justice." -- Cicero

"Do you have a gut feeling that things are not quite right in the world today - that America is in decline just as the Roman Empire was centuries ago? Do you know anyone who doesn't? (You probably do.) Most conscious folks do sense that liberty and freedom are inexorably being swallowed up by unseen forces." Read MORE...(click NOW)

6. Men Hunt, Women Peck
August 2004 (Newstream) --

It's no secret that men and women are often looking for different things in life. A new survey shows they're also looking for different things online. Matt Kelly has the story.

Digital Lifestyles, I'm Matt Kelly. It's another thing men and women don't agree on - what to search for online. A recent survey by MSN and Harris Interactive revealed that men's top search categories are entertainment, news and cars, while women's are more likely to look for information about health, travel and weather. MSN's Christine Andrews.

(Andrews) We conducted the survey to see what America is searching for - so we could help people find the information they want. Our vision is to go beyond today's basic search services and deliver faster more relevant results. Soon MSN will offer direct answers to searchers questions in plain English. In order to do that, we needed to understand how people use search engines and what they search for when online.

One thing men and women both enjoy searching for - celebrities. But the names are different. Men's top celebrities are Kobe Bryant and Anna Kournikova, while women's favorites are Jennifer Lopez and Vin Diesel. That's part of our Digital Lifestyle. I'm Matt Kelly.

7. Feds Change Airport Background Checks

WASHINGTON (Aug. 11) - The Homeland Security Department is tossing out huge chunks of a multi-million-dollar plan to run background checks on airline passengers.

So many people objected to the Computer-Assisted Passenger Pre-screening System, CAPPS II for short, that the makeover will even include a new name.

Critics especially disliked CAPPS II because it would check identity by running a passengers' personal information against government and commercial databases.

Homeland Security officials say the new plan will likely use a different system to check identity. Officials also say the new system will give passengers the ability to correct mistakes if they're wrongly identified as terrorists or suspects.

The makeover will include a new name, though that, too, is turning out to be a dilemma for the Homeland Security Department.

The working title, "Secure Passage," was abandoned because it had the same initials as another aviation security program. In a city that loves its acronyms, it's best not to double up.

No one thinks a name change alone will be enough to resurrect CAPPS II.

8. Why Your ISP Takes Bribes From Spammers
by Niall Roche

The lifeblood of the spammer is email. They need to be able to send lots of it on an ongoing basis to stay in "business". High profile spammers can send 80 million pieces of junk email every single day. Yes one single person.

ISPs all over the online world have vowed to stop spammers sending such vast amounts of email through their mail servers. Do they really keep their word? All the end user sees is that the spam keeps coming. There must be a loophole there somewhere. There is.

In the soft white underbelly of the internet there exists something known as a pink contract. The term pink contract comes from the color of the famous tinned meat that junk email gets its name from. A pink contract is simply a business agreement between the ISP and the spammer. The spammer agrees to pay the ISP to turn a blind eye to the junk email passing through their mail servers.

Surely this is bad business for the ISP? Well the answer to that is both Yes and No. Yes it's bad news for the people who receive the junk email and No it's good news for the ISPs bank balance. A monthly pink contract can pay the ISP amounts from $10,000 upwards. Bearing in mind that the average work-at-home spammer averages $100,000 net per year the above figure is small change fo the bigger junk email vendors (the guys who earn $200,000 - $400,000 per month.)

But..... the CanSpam Act 2003... surely that's going to make a difference? Of course. Any ISP in the United States can get in serious, serious trouble for signing pink contracts. Problem is that there's a whole big world wide web out there and the vast majority of pink contracts are signed with overseas ISPs where US authorities have no jurisdiction - China and Russia being perfect examples.

There's no moral to this story. Spam is a huge problem that's finally being taken seriously by Governmental bodies. However until they start imposing prison sentences or seizure orders on those individuals and companies in the pink contract business the problem can only continue.

CREDIT CARD ISSUERS - They are using every excuse they can invent to raise your rates! Some recent examples: Even if you are always on time with them and they find you are late with another company (e.g., cell phone or utility bill or any company they learn about) they can raise your rate to the maximum allowed (read the fine print in your contract). Bank One now owns most of the cards and JP Chase owns them...I know of people who now find themselves with 6 to 10 Bank One credit card accounts as a result of their buyouts and mergers. Are you one?

12. Pro Patria, Pro Mundo

[from the November 12, 2001 issue of The Nation]

A recent New York Times headline asked an insinuating question: "After the Attacks, Which Side Is the Left On?" The Times should find the nerve to put the same question to the major players of business and finance. Which side is Citigroup on? Or General Electric and Boeing? Where does loyalty reside for those American corporations that have rebranded themselves as "global firms"? Our resurgence of deeply felt patriotism, with official assurances that Americans are all-in-this-together, raises the same question. At a deeper level, the patriotic sense of unity collides with familiar assumptions advanced by the architects and cheerleaders of corporate globalization. The nation-state has been eclipsed, they explain, and no longer has the power to determine its own destiny. The national interest, they assert, now lies in making the world safe for globalizing commerce and capital.

America has lost one of its greats! The dear friend of our own Burt Richards (INNER-VIEWS WITH CELEBRITIES), Frances Langford passed away on Monday July 11th, 2005.

Compiled by Burt Richards
(slang for an old man) are easy to spot:

At sporting events, during the playing of the National Anthem, Old Geezers hold their caps over their hearts and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them. Old Geezers remember World War I, the Depression, World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing, not to mention Vietnam. If you bump into an Old Geezer on the sidewalk, he will apologize. If you pass an Old Geezer on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Geezers trust strangers and are courtly to women. Old Geezers hold the door nor the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection. Old Geezers get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth on TV or in movies. Will help a child cross the street and look out for them. Old Geezers have moral courage. They seldom brag unless it's about their grandchildren. It's the Old Geezers who know our GREAT country is protected, not by politicians or police, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country. This country needs Old Geezers with their decent values. We need them now more than ever. Thank God for Old Geezers! Senior citizens are constantly being criticized for every conceivable deficiency of the modern world, real or imaginary. We know All GEEZERS take responsibility for all we have done and do not blame others.

HOWEVER, upon reflection, we would like to point out that it was NOT the SENIOR CITIZENS GEEZERS who took:
The melody out of music,
The pride out of appearance,
The courtesy out of driving,
The romance out of love,
The commitment out of marriage,
The responsibility out of parenthood,
The togetherness out of the family,
The learning out of education,
The service out of patriotism,
The Golden Rule from rulers,
The nativity scene out of cities,
The civility out of behavior,
The refinement out of language,
The dedication out of employment,
The prudence out of spending,
The ambition out of achievement, or God out of government and school.
And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from personal relationships and interactions with others!!

19. A Blast from Our Past?

The following link will take you on a journey that will sound "Very Familiar"...

"Once the people are terrorized, you can force a police state on them."----Mae Brussell

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."----James Madison

[False flag operations are covert operations (PSYOPS) conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear like they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one's own. False flags were used to start the Vietnam war (The Bay of Tonkin incident), Iraq war and the Afghanistan invasion. (911). School shootings for gun control, Serial killers for fear, Nature flagged for weather engineering, and so on. In medicine 'viruses' are used by The Virus hunters to hide man made disease from drugs and industrial poisons, and to instill fear for the selling of vaccines and the corporate medical system. Any war, terrorist incident or mass killing should be considered a false flag unless proven otherwise.]
